LONDON (March 6, 1991) - In an official submission to the London Board of Education entitled Failing Our Children, Fp leader Robert Metz reminded board administration and trustees of their primary responsibility: "Tell Bob Rae that your responsibility is to the 55,798 students you serve, not to Queens Park edicts and political agendas. You may not always have the political power you need to enact change, but you do have the potential for influence. School boards must start pressuring senior levels of government not simply for more money, but for more freedom to take control of their budgets and of the service they offer their customers - the students."
