| The Globe and Mail editorial cartoon below is from the September 1, 1987 edition, ten days prior to the provincial election. Although the meaning of the cartoon is subject for speculation, we assume it is a response to remarks made by Fp Leader Robert Metz in the day's previous Globe. In that front page story, Metz commented: "Ideas, philosophy and principles, and not fancy buses, jets and entourages are our vehicle to Queen's Park. We simply have a very modest budget and such luxuries are not a relevant concern for a small party just getting started." |
