The campaign against London City Council's attempt to host the 1991 Pan-American Games began when Freedom Party Action Director Marc Emery sent a letter to the editor of the London Free Press critical of City Council's plan. Why? The event would have cost municipal, provincial and federal taxpayers over $100 million!

UNIONS
Freedom Party's reason for existence is to support and advocate individual freedom of choice --- anywhere. For this reason, we assisted the downtown London Eaton's employees in their successful attempt to resist union certification last fall. The failure of the union certification drive is a testament to the impotence of any movement that abandons the spirit of voluntarism and reason in favour of coercive tactics.
EDUCATION
In December 1994, the Commission on Private Schools in Ontario requested submissions by placing ads in many Ontario newspapers. Freedom Party seized the opportunity to advocate freedom of choice in education and addressed what will undoubtedly be one of the major political issues facing Ontario residents over the next decade --- the funding of education.
