FPO's "Embracing Climate Change" DINNER

Dear Members, Friends, and Supporters,

Since the very beginning of the politically fashionable objective of "fighting climate change," Freedom Party has steadfastly remained on course steering clear of political fashions, particularly this tragic one.  Finding little evidence (even among all the offered "facts" and "statistics"), and even less rationality within the "consensus" about what is warming the planet - and what we should do about it, Freedom Party has never joined or supported the "fighting climate change" bandwagon.  Simply put, it would have been irresponsible to do so.  We would not have been able to justify such a position to ourselves, let alone to others.

Over the years since the "climate change" narrative took root, we have conducted much of our own research on the issue.  Additionally, we approached many knowledgeable people on the subject.  What we have consistently learned has been very much the opposite of the official government narrative.

In Ontario, all of the parties in the legislature are firmly dedicated to "fighting climate change."  To them, "fighting climate change" means "carbon pricing," restricting production, re-distributing wealth, and monopolizing Ontario's energy industry to be able to charge monopoly prices (at "cost" of course).  They are in total agreement on these goals, and worse, they have been using what they call "science" to bolster their purely political agendas.

So what is "science" and what is not science? And why has this become a political question?

To help us answer that question, we are honoured to feature none other than Dr. Christopher Essex, Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Western Ontario as our keynote speaker on October 29 in London.   His enclosed credentials on this issue more than explain why he's the one to turn to for an answer to that question.  So for those who would like to hear the "other" side of the climate change monologue, make Saturday October 29 your opportunity to do so.

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED to join us for dinner and toMEET DR CHRISTOPHER ESSEX:

Today, the very notion of embracing climate change and what it implies is beyond being "politically incorrect";  it is outright political heresy.  But embracing climate change is not necessarily about "doing nothing."  Unfortunately, alternatives to the government's current course of action on climate change are discouraged from being discussed to a point where differing voices on the issue have been labeled climate change "deniers", among other silencing-the-debate labeling tactics.

"Fighting climate change" is a loser's game, and everyone eventually loses.  So let's stop "fighting."  Instead, let's consider embracing climate change.  We can accept it and then adapt, when necessary, and only if necessary.  No losers.  Just winners.

It is now 2016, fourteen years after the publication (2002) of Taken By Storm: The Troubled Science, Policy, and Politics of Global Warming.  Co-authored by Dr. Christopher Essex and Professor Ross McKitrick, the book clearly placed them on the official list of climate change "deniers."

How sad that such common sense has today become politicized to the point where even having a discussion on the topic is an act of heresy.

How fortunate that there is a Freedom Party, where open discussion on all of the most controversial issues is the norm, and where knowledgeable and informed guests are encouraged to speak  - freely.

Make Saturday October 29 your opportunity to hear our keynote speaker, Dr Christopher Essex, as he demonstrates what he calls the "crucial art of scientific heresy."

As is our long-standing tradition, master of ceremonies Robert Vaughan will kick off the evening with Freedom Party's traditional toast to freedom. After dinner, you'll be treated to a delightful evening of entertainment and heretical talk about "politicians, apocalypse, and supernovas."

I look forward to hearing from you soon - and to seeing everyone on October 29.

Yours in freedom,
Robert Metz

President,

ABOUT FREEDOM PARTY'S FUNDING and FINANCES

(1) As an officially-registered Ontario political party, Freedom Party is financially audited annually and regulated through the authority of Elections Ontario. As such, Freedom Party operates similar to a 'non-profit' association in that it is exempt from paying federal or provincial income taxes on contributions and other sources of revenue.

(2) Freedom Party has no debts as a result of a strict practice to limit spending to current means.
This assures contributors can count on their money being invested in current and future endeavours, not for past ones. Of course, this also limits what the Freedom Party may effectively accomplish during any given campaign period - the limit being the degree of financial resources offered by members and supporters.

(3) Unlike the parties currently in the legislature, Freedom Party receives no government funding or subsidies whatsoever; any potential tax benefits accrue only to contributors themselves and not to the party.
100% of Freedom Party's financial support comes from 100% voluntary contributions and donations.
